INCORPORATION
Minutes of the incorporation meeting9 July 2008The [first] monthly meeting of the Timp Woodturners Association convened at 6:30 pm at the Craft Supplies USA warehouse. After refreshments and socializing, the meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Kirk DeHeer with about 30 persons present. Kirk DeHeer presented a brief introduction of the proposed by-laws declaring the primary intent was to invest many people in participation of the club while preventing any individual from controlling a dominant influence in running the club. He also reviewed the proposed dues structure: annual dues for regular members would be $25; for additional family members $10; for full time students under age 25 $10; and for regular members joining after mid-fiscal year $15. A motion was made, seconded and carried unanimously to accept the proposed by-laws as drafted. A motion was made, seconded and carried unanimously to accept the proposed dues structure as drafted. A question was asked about when the fiscal (dues) year would begin. The by-laws state it will begin 1 August. A motion was made, seconded and carried unanimously to change the fiscal year to run from 1 July to 30 June. The by-laws will be corrected accordingly. Stuart Davey presented a demonstration on turning volcano salt shakers. Kirk DeHeer proposed that the planned wood raffle be postponed until the August meeting since we did not have a proper opportunity to sell raffle tickets at this meeting. The proposal met no objection. The next meeting will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, August 13 in the Craft USA facilities. The building to be used will be identified with the "Welcome Woodturners" banner. The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:00 pm. Dues were collected from 18 regular members and 8 additional family members. Respectfully submitted,
